Mesh banner

Mesh banner printing for projects

Mesh is not chosen because it is a banner. It is chosen because a solid PVC banner on a hoarding line or a scaffold is a sail, and because something has to be screened while work carries on behind it. This section is written for the people who buy it that way — main contractors, developers, and facility and energy operators with a specification to meet and a submittal to clear.

Where mesh goes on a project

The same material does five different jobs, and the specification changes with each. Telling us which one it is answers half the questions in a quotation.

ApplicationWhat it is doingWhat changes in the spec
Site hoardingScreening the site line and carrying the project or developer identityLong runs, repeated panels, eyelet spacing matched to the hoarding frame
Scaffold wrapContainment and branding on a scaffold during construction or refurbishmentWind load governs everything — open area, hem reinforcement, fixing centres
Building wrapCovering a facade during works, often the most visible item on the projectColour consistency across drops, panel strategy, access for installation
Fence and perimeter bannersBoundary, compound and car-park identificationShort spans, fast turnaround, usually self-installed
Large-format safety messagingHSE and warning content at a size that reads across a siteLegibility at distance, approved wording, often a client brand standard

A quotation that says only "mesh banner" has not said which of these it is. A fence banner and a building wrap of the same area are different builds, different fixings and different installation risk.

What actually decides the specification

Five things change the price and the life of a mesh banner far more than the print does. Each has a page of its own where it needs one.

Open area and wind

The perforations are the product. Roughly 30–40% open area lets wind through instead of loading the structure. The more exposed the position, the more this matters — and the less a solid PVC banner belongs there.

Material weight

Site work in this market sits around 270–340 g/m². Lighter is for short events; heavier is for long-duration facade exposure. Tell us how long it stays up and the weight follows.

Finishing and fixing

Reinforced hems on four sides, brass eyelets at 500 mm centres and 250 mm at corners, reinforced corners with D-rings on large panels, pole pockets sized to the actual pipe. Eyelet spacing is the most common cause of a dispute on site.

Fire classification

Hoarding, scaffold and facade material is routinely required to carry one, and the main contractor asks for the certificate with the submittal.

Access and installation

Bungee cord or cable ties at every eyelet on a scaffold; a tensioned frame on a facade. Access equipment is a named line in our quotation, by the day — never absorbed into a square-metre rate where it quietly disappears.

Approvals

Project and authority approvals — wording, brand standard, municipality or operator clearance — are usually the long pole, not production. Start them with the enquiry, not after the order.

How a mesh package runs with us

Artwork is checked automatically for resolution and finished size before it reaches a press. Each item is then approved by you through a link that records who approved what and when — the control that stops the wrong revision being printed at volume, which is the most common and most expensive dispute on a site package. The delivery date comes out of measured capacity per work centre rather than a guess, and for multi-site work the panels are packed and labelled by location so nothing has to be sorted on arrival. Supply is priced per square metre on the product page; installation is quoted separately against the actual site, because a 2 m² fence banner and a 35 m facade should never carry the same rate.

What we need to quote

Six lines in an email is usually enough to return a firm price.

  • The application — hoarding, scaffold, building wrap, fence or safety messaging
  • Sizes and quantities, or the hoarding run in linear metres with the height
  • How long it has to stay up, and how exposed the position is
  • Whether installation is in scope, and whether access equipment is available on site
  • Any fire classification or client brand standard the material must meet
  • Artwork, or the brand guideline if artwork is still to be prepared

What we say plainly

Panels within the roll width we print in-house are printed, finished and checked in our own factory in Abu Dhabi. Larger panels are produced to our specification and finished, inspected and installed by us — we would rather tell you that than imply a capability and have you discover it on your site. What is ours throughout is the specification, the approvals, the project management, the installation and the inspection, which on a hoarding or facade package is where the risk actually sits.

Questions contractors ask

Why mesh instead of a solid PVC banner?

Wind. The perforations let air through, so the banner and the structure holding it take far less load. On a scaffold, a hoarding line or any exposed span, a solid banner becomes a sail — it tears, or it takes the frame with it.

Do you install, or supply only?

Both. Supply is priced per square metre and installation is quoted separately against the actual site. Our own crews install, including facade work and work at height, so the fixing and the graphic are one responsibility rather than two suppliers pointing at each other.

Can you handle a package across several sites?

Yes. Panels are packed and labelled by location so nothing is sorted on arrival, and every item carries a job reference you can track.

What documents can you provide for the submittal?

ICV certificate, industrial and commercial licences, Civil Defence certificate, occupational health and safety policy, code of conduct, and material documentation for what is supplied. Our credentials register is public and each document is released to a named person on request.

How long does it take?

It depends on the area, the finishing and the week. We give a date calculated from the capacity actually available on the machines — and if approvals are outstanding, that is usually what sets the date, not production.

Do you work to a client brand standard?

Yes. We supply continuously against fixed brand standards for an airline and for energy operators, where colour and layout are audited rather than admired. Send the guideline with the enquiry.
