Environmental footprint

Our environmental practices are built around the equipment we actually run and the materials we actually buy — not a general promise. Here is what that means in our facility in Abu Dhabi.

Our production equipment

Certifications belong to the ink or machine manufacturer, as they publish them — not to us as a company.

💧

HP Latex 800W

Prints with water-based HP Latex ink, not solvent ink. GREENGUARD Gold certified, with no Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs) as defined by the US EPA.

☀️

Epson SureColor SC-V7000

UV flatbed printer: ink cures instantly under LED-UV light rather than air-drying. GREENGUARD Gold and AgBB certified.

♻️

Xerox Iridesse Production Press

Digital press using HD EA (Emulsion Aggregation) dry toner — smaller, more uniform particles designed to produce less toner waste and use less energy per page than conventional toner.

Precision cutting, less waste

Beyond printing, our cutting and finishing floor runs on computer-guided equipment — a Mimaki plotter cutter, a CNC cutting machine, a laser cutter and a die-cutting machine — rather than manual cutting alone. Guided cutting nests shapes more efficiently on a sheet than cutting by hand, which is where material scrap is actually created or avoided.

Short runs, no overproduction

We run offset presses alongside a digital production press (the Xerox Iridesse). A digital press has no plate to set up, so a small order can be printed to the exact quantity needed instead of the larger minimum run an offset plate makes economical — one of the more direct ways printing volume turns into waste.

Waste & recycling

Paper, board and material offcuts from daily production are collected and sent to a certified recycling and sustainability partner — roughly 1.5 to 2 tonnes at a time — rather than disposed of as general waste. We also work to reduce offcut waste at the source, in how a job is planned and cut, not only after the fact.

Materials

Where a suitable option exists, we choose paper and substrate suppliers with more environmentally conscious production, alongside our standard commercial-grade materials.

Every certification above belongs to the equipment or ink/toner manufacturer, as they publish it — not to Art for Printing Industry as a company.
